Today is September 11th, it has been 19 years since the historic 9/11 events. Today, instead of replaying these events, I'm posting about a beautifully illustrated book, Blue Sky, White Stars by Sarvinder Naberhaus. This poetic take on the flag is illustrated by Kadir Nelson. The striking art is what I really took away from the book.
Today, choose to reflect on what the flag stands for. This books shows off what the flag is on face value as well as a deep meaning that can be associated with it. The white rows of the flag may just be white stripes to some, but they can also signify rows of covered wagons traveling across the nation to settle new towns.
Whether standing tall for the flag is military service or getting your education, maybe you can examine what the American Flag means to you!
Have a great weekend this weekend and be sure to let me know if you enjoyed this post. Use the hashtag #LearningFunWithLaura when you post and share.
